During my time as a graduate student, I have had the opportunity to present original research to a professional audience. These presentations gave me the opportunity to discuss my research with professionals in academia and industry, as well as the experience of explaining my specific projects to an audience exposed to it for the first time. Conferences that I personally presented at are detailed below.

Association of Business Communication (ABC) 2018 International Conference
I received a Graduate Student Travel Grant to attend the ABC 2018 conference in Miami, Florida, where I was able to showcase research that I had conducted during a statistics course. I completed CITI ethical research training, and performed data collection and analysis to examine the effect of social media on the communication of healthcare information.

East Central Writing Centers Association (ECWCA) 2019 Annual Conference
My advisor and I presented initial findings from a university-funded grant project that is studying the relationship between engineering students and writing center tutors, using assignment-specific training to bridge the gap between writing centers and engineering students, with a goal of improved lab report writing as well as more confident writing tutors.

21st WACE World Conference
Presented as a group at the 2019 WACE conference, this project investigates the role of internships in creating a workforce-ready technical communications student. An initial qualitative analysis provided our group with valuable information to potentially shape future internships and connect technical communication students to the workforce.
